A septuagenerian apparently trying to cross the busy Pujut road near Boulevard Mall, Miri died after being knock by a car.

The victim, identified as Awin Juli, 78 and allegedly died on the spot due the collision.

There is a pedestrian bridge few meter from where his body was lying down.

Awin body is said to have been sent to Miri hospital for post mortem.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

In 2009, another pedestrian, Victor Beton Lungau, 49, hailed from Long San was killed after being knocked down by an SUV while crossing the same road.

Victor died from head and body injuries.
