It’s a gained for Bintulu in the latest Sarawak cabinet reshuffle under Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg announced yesterday.

Datuk Talib Zulpilip is being promoted to a full ministerial post as Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office taking charge of Integrity and Ombudsmen portfolio.

The former Assistant Minister of Urbanization and Assistant Minister of Infrastructure Development will be sworn in into office later today.

Born Sept. 13, 1951, Datuk Talib Zulpilip holds a Master of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand.

He has been a Member of Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (Dewan Undangan Sarawak) since September 1996.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Stephen Rundi, Kemena State Assemblyman is being reassigned to lead Ministry of Rural Electricity from Ministry of Public Utilities.

Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan is also being promoted to become a Deputy Chief Minister.

The new Assistant Ministers – Snowdan Lawan, Bali Ringin representative and Abdullah Saidol Semop representative – appointed to Abang Johari’s new cabinet May 7, 2017.

Abang Johari created two new ministries – International Trade and E-Commerce, headed by Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh and Education and Science and Technological Research – led by Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong.

Ministry of Urbanization and Housing previously held by Abang Johari himself is being axed.

It is a minor reshuffle with Abdullah Saidol, Snowdan Lawan being the only new faces as Abang Johari reappointed the entire Sarawak Cabinet he inherited from the late Adenan Satem.
