Construction of the Pan Borneo Highway Nyabau-Bakun junction stretch is slightly ahead of schedule said Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yussof.
Nyabau-Bakun package undertaken by a Piasau Konkrit actual completion rate right now is 29.5 percent – 2.5 percent ahead of schedule at 27, he said.
According to Senior Project Manager, Joseph Ling Yew Yong on March 3: “So far, pavement work has been focused from Ch. 19 to 25 and Ch. 36 to 43.”
“At these stretches, we have laid about 15 km of top and bottom subgrade, while some 14.2 km of road has been covered with sub base, and 13 km with road base. Binder has been laid on 7.1 km of road”.
“Overall, the Pan Borneo Highway project is progressing smoothly thus far,” the Petra Jaya MP told reporters after the breaking of fast at Sibu Muslim Welfare Trust Board’s (Lakis) hall in An-Nur Mosque Sibu on Monday.
Medan Jaya Flyover
Works Ministry had appointed a consultant to design Medan Jaya – Tun Hussein Onn flyover.
Once completed the flyover would ease the bottleneck at Medan Jaya.
However, Fadillah didn’t say when the flyover construction started.
That means motorists in Bintulu, particularly those living along the Tun Hussein Onn road, had to bear with traffic jam – hopefully not for too long.
