The out-going Umno president and Malaysia prime minister said the party Supreme Council had decided to sacked Datuk Zaid Ibrahim for violating the party rules by attending Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) recent national congress.

“UMNO Supreme council decided to sack Datuk Zaid Ibrahim because several actions taken by him in particular those related to attending gathering of opposition party,” Abdullah said when announcing the decision today.

“But Umno must be consistent when a decision was to be made with regard to matter of this nature.”

“We don’t have double standard… where different people will be given different decisions” he said.
