Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will explain the 1Malaysia concept to federal government leaders soon, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Maj Gen (Rtd) Datuk Mohd Jamil Khir Baharom said today.
He said these leaders would explain the concept to the people nationwide from time to time. He also said that Umno would train cadres to explain the concept to the grassroots to clear any confusion and misinterpretation.
“Malays should regard the 1Malaysia concept as a challenge and must be prepared to compete to succeed so that they will not be left out of mainstream development,” he told reporters after explaining the concept to members of the Kuala Kedah Umno Division, here.
Mohd Jamil said the essence of the 1Malaysia concept was not opposed to Islamic teachings and the Federal Constitution, and the Malays would not lose any of their privileges under the concept. — Bernama
