Dr Stephen Rundi Itom, Kemena State Assemblyman.

Kemena state assemblyman Dr Stephen Rundi Itom reminded land owners in Bintulu Division to thoroughly verify their land ownership status before demanded compensation from Government.

Without directly referring to Nor Nyawai case – Dr Rundi said he was aware, many landowners often resorted to use blogs, opposition parties to fight for their rights – when their demands not met.

“Let’s be clear – Native Customary Lands are those lands being cleared before 1958 and Temuda lands were those after that year,” he said in a press conference on Sunday.

He said it was land classified as Temuda that was often the source of disputes in the state.

“When government didn’t compensate Temuda landowners after their lands were taken for development – they started to use online media to vent their angst without consulting the government,” he said.

“State government not robber and had never robbed people’s lands.”

“If there were group confiscating people’s lands in my constituency – I’d be the first to fight for them.”

He however added – they must first make sure such land legally belong to them.

Dr Rundi said state government still open its door to negotiate with Temuda landowners.

“They can come and tell government. We will help then… but with condition they must be willing to negotiate.”

hhhmmm… in the 1st part, mentioned that Nor ak. Nyawai and his folks won the fight for the NCR land… Now Stephen Rundi called the land as TEMUDA???

  2. Mudah lupa. They won the fight against BPP. Now they back with Tatatu Land. Unlike BPP – Tatau Land own by ASSAR – a state government company – directly link to you know who. That’s why Tatau Land easily summon law enforcers – as if they are government.

i am sure they have this syndrom called MUDAH LUPA… as usual… they only will remember the RAKYAT when the election is just around the corner… Is this the 1 Malaysia spirit our PM want it to be?

As I qoute Dr. Rundi say, “If there were group confiscating people’s lands in my constituency – I’d be the first to fight for them.” Now my question is, have Dr. Rundi go and meet with all the effected rakyat in Sg. Sekabai settlement??

My 2nd quote to Dr. Rundi say, “they must first make sure such land legally belong to them.”… wow… aren’t our assemblyman know about the case which was won by Tr. Nor ak. Nyawai and his anak biak a decade ago??

I am not offending anyone here, but just shocked about the statement made by our state assemblyman which was vote by the people to represent the people…

I agreed with you ICE LEMON TEA.I’m very surprise with the statement by the MENTERI MUDA as well as the assemblyman for KEMENA without thinking what are the effect of his statement.Being the ‘wakil rakyat’ he should go down to the ground and investigate bcoz the case of TR NOR AK NYAWAI is from his constituency.

But it is expected from ‘wakil rakyat ‘ like him who is not sensitive on matters happening in his constituency.Ever since being the ‘wakil rakyat’ for the past ten years i dare to say that he has not done much or anything especially with matters in his state seat.

Ask anybody from KEMENA from TUBAU right up to BATU NIAH what contribution YB DR. STEPHEN RUNDI has given.

It is not the fault of the BN govt but none performance of the ‘wakil rakyat’ just like him. CAKAP TAK SERUPA BIKIN LA….

WE SHLD GO FOR A CHANGE IN THE NEXT SARAWAK GENERAL ELECTION to change ‘wakil rakyat’ like him.

To all Kemena eligible voters…VOTE OUT DR RUNDI.

I agreed with you ICE LEMON TEA but actually im not surprise with his statement bcoz that is just to show how concern he is with the matters arising in his constituency.

If he is that concern he shld investigate for himself rather than asking the landowners to make sure of the rights of ownership to the say land.

For the past 10 years actually YB DR STEPHEN has done nothing to matters in KEMENA.Zero Contribution and empty promises.CAKAP TAK SERUPA BIKIN.

Ask the registered voters esp. in Tubau right up to Batu Niah….after 10 years being the ‘Wakil Rakyat’ what has YB DR STEPHEN contributed.

Actually it is not all the fault of the State BN govt but the fault of Wakil Rakyat like him.Can u Imagine his own longhouse pun tak siap.

TO ALL VOTERS IN KEMENA VOTE HIM OUT BCOZ WE WANT A CHANGE IF HE IS NOMINATED AGAIN AND I AM SURE MANY OF THE 13,954 REGISTERED VOTERS IN KEMENA WOULD AGREED WITH ME
